Review Summary
The following is an AI generated summary of the reviews of the community from across the web.
The reviews for the senior living facilities vary widely, highlighting different experiences based on individual needs and expectations. One review expressed dissatisfaction with the level of rehab versus nursing home care, mentioning that the food quality was not satisfactory, but praised two aides for their exceptional care. Another review praised the Montrose VA Veteran's Home for its welcoming and helpful staff, making a difficult transition easier for their father.
Several reviews highlighted the excellent care for residents with Alzheimer's and dementia, noting the compassionate and respectful treatment by the aides and the clean, supportive environment. The importance of a veteran-friendly facility was mentioned, appreciating the camaraderie among World War II veterans and the overall atmosphere that made family members feel confident in the care provided.
However, one review simply stated the care as "Horrible.....Terrible patient care," without further details. Others expressed gratitude for the kind and patient staff, excellent care for both patients and families, and the clean and attentive environment. The presence of dedicated professionals who treat residents like family was a recurring theme in the positive reviews.
Concerns were raised about personal items disappearing and the general challenge of finding a suitable facility, but overall, many reviewers felt their loved ones were well cared for, especially noting the difference in care quality compared to other facilities. The importance of visiting and being involved in the care process was also mentioned, emphasizing the need for family engagement.
Reviews
My father passed at this facility in 2022 without any Hospice care. The administration does not allow Hospice into the veteran’s home for its residents even though Hospice services are provided by Medicare at no cost to the nursing home. There are currently no HOSPICE services at this Veterans Nursing Home. This is no way to take care of our Veterans. Unbelievable!!!! MCPO USN (Ret.)
