Reviews
My father was sent to Wonder City Rehabilitation Center, because he could no longer walk or feed himself. At Wonder City(Hopewell), my dad has encountered so many issues. I do believe the majority are due to negligence and short staffing. One of the main reasons I’m writing this review is to warn other families and because of the wounds that have developed now have him on hospiceat the end of his life. I did not see any of his wounds while he was at Wonder City, because they were always covered up. His buttocks and the heels of his feet are something I have never seen before, and no one should have to see their loved one's body parts in this condition. I literally cried when I took the dressings off his feet. My father doesn’t even have a heel on his feet anymore. There is a “HOLE” where his heels used to be. I cannot even imagine the pain my father is in, especially when he can barely communicate the pain, due to his dementia. I have tried to ask for help, and some people have guided me to the right resources. No one at Wonder City ever told me that his wounds were this severe and they are totally responsible. Please do not send your loves to this facility, because they literally killed my Dad for having a long life. On January 28th, they left him in the hallway on a shower bed naked with just a sheet. No one was around and he used the restroom on himself. I had to speak loudly for a nurse to return, for her to say she need help getting him into the bed, that's why she left him. He was left so long that they had to moist the floor and scrub it to get the residue of the feces off the floor. They took my Dad's clothing and pretended someone else with his same initials had his clothing (his clothing had his initials and full name on everything). Also, they gave him a COVID shot without my permission. I decline the first shot because he had pneumonia at the time, I found out they gave him a shot when they asked to give him a second shot. I was confused, because I never gave consent for the first one. There is so much I could talk about from the food, cleanliness, staff, and care of patients. Please look into a facility more before letting them go here. My Dad is an Army Veteran that served in Vietnam and he didn't deserve they type of treatment and I visited him almost everyday when I got off work. Now, I watching him in his final stages because he never recovered from the horrific bed wounds and negligence of this horrible place. I have pictures to prove the negligence!!!
