Reviews
My friend this there - age only 68 but in full care. She has multiple health/mobility issues. The staff seem very kind and on top of the basics and the volunteers try very hard to bring cheer and she hasn’t died so there’s that.. but the place is a dingy dark hole. I don’t think any upgrades in the North wing have been done for decades. Montgomery County took better care of the place in the 1990’s when it was for the indigent of the county. The lighting is terrible, there are no proper TVs, no rooms with safe bathing facilities or toilets even for the mobile. Worse - she has been there a full year and they have given her little to NO rehab. Her broken bones are all healed but she is skin and bones and weak as a cat because she hasn’t been out of bed for a FULL YEAR. They are wildly understaffed which I think is the main issue. The food is beyond subpar though I appreciate how hard it is to prepare meals for people taking in multiple health concerns but still it should arrive warm at least once in a while. If you want people to regain their strength and weight you need to serve palatable food I must say my biggest concern is their lack of rehab. Every visit I pass the big rehab room going to the North Bldg and no patients are ever in there. Yet there are 4-7 therapists sitting around on their phones. My friend could be in there getting herself back to mobility I believe my friend is going to have to get attorneys involved shortly. Luckily my spouse IS one and has several highly competent elder care attorneys he is going to refer her to. The new owners seem to be bilking the residents for profits by cutting staff, pay, food quality. Fyi - my friend is NOT a Medicaid patient not that they should get the same care as everyone else but saying no one is getting optimal care there as far as I have seen this past year . Hey corporate owners- These are human beings not profit machines.
