Reviews
My father is a resident at Glen Oaks, New London MN. In assisted living on the weekend they only have one person to help the residents. My father has sat there for 30 to 45 minutes to receive help to use the restroom. They say they are short staffed. I feel either hire more people or take in less residents. The residents deserve more help. For the most part people seem to be very nice to him. He does lay in bed early in the morning waiting to get up. I call around 8 am and he is still in bed. He is an early riser and wakes up around 6am. He hates laying there, sometimes in urine. He calls for help but they say they are busy. The place could be cleaner. Floors pretty dirty in my dads room. I’ve had to wipe them and get quite a bit of dirt off the floor even right after the cleaning person has come in. Maybe some buffing might help get the dirt off the floors. Chairs with stains and blood on them in the common area and carpet needs a good cleaning. My dad seems happy enough but we pay a good amount of money each month and they need more help and some better upkeep of this place. Walls need repair. One of the rooms my dad was in the smoke alarm was hanging from the ceiling with wires and the vents on the wall close to the floor were falling off. This place just needs some help.. I give it 2 stars only because of a few people like a women named Shelby who is very good to my Dad. They do not work everyday and others need better training. Does not feel warm and fuzzy when I walk in. Hardly anyone smiles and you are pretty much ignored.
