Mother in law fell at home, hip fracture and had surgery, she then went to Country Club Delaware for Rehab. Positives: Physical and Occupational Therapy and great food (don't hear that very often) Negatives: Nursing staff (nurses and assistants, along with Director of Nursing). It would take very long period of time to answer a call light - up to 51 minutes. Attitude by assistants were a constant behavior when asking to help mother in law to bathroom. Customer service from nursing staff was awful starting with Director of Nursing down. My mother in law was making great progress and was due to return home within a week to 10 days from having a family meeting with PT/OT, Social Worker, and Nursing representatives. Family was excited to bring her home. However, five (5) days after family meeting with facility staff, she was found with swelling and pain in hip and leg area (same side as previous fracture hip) by family when they went to visit. Nurse and assistant stated they were not aware of anything happening to her, Long story short, she was taken to ER and she was diagnosed with 3 fractures and a dislocated hip. She now has rod and plate in her hip/femur area. Facility stated nothing happened, but something happened under their watch that they did not report. She had to have a second surgery in less than 30 days. Director of Nursing failed to return calls to family in regards of what happened and what caused our 90 years old mother(mother in law) injuries. Family were aware that accidents happen, but for the facility to totally deny anything happened was beyond our comprehensive. No one breaks 3 bones and dislocate a hip doing nothing. I would never recommend this facility for rehab of one of your family members/loved ones. The rating on internet is deceiving - talk to individuals that have had experiences there.
