Run from this facility! The long-term care here is awful as well as the management. Anyone that has a family member here should remove them as soon as possible. The upper management does as they please. They constantly make mistakes and try to use ignorance as an excuse. The amount of times I've heard "oh, sorry." is ridiculous. Care concerns: My father was being left in his bed for 15 hours at a time. I suspected he was being left in his bed so I put a camera in his room. My suspicion was confirmed within a matter of days after I put a camera in his room. I had to call and tell them to get him out of bed. After I confronted them about my father being left in his bed for hours at a time, they started keeping him out of his room. I have video of staff members removing him from his room for no reason. I've heard staff members say the following statements. "I'm not giving ________ a shower. I already did my shower today." "What does she want now? I'm not going to check on her you do it." "It's New Years Day, I can't give showers because it'll wash the good luck away." The food is terrible. The campuses have a menu but they don't follow it. On the weekends, staff members are buying food and bringing it in to feed themselves and the residents. It is absurd that an underpaid employee has to provide food for the residents to eat. Otherwise, the residents are served frozen chicken fingers or oven-baked cheese sandwiches. The residents with special diets that need their food pureed are fed disgusting food. One day they made frozen chicken fingers and the only thing that they had to puree them with was ranch dressing and water. They literally took an entire bottle of ranch and mixed it with chicken tenders and then fed it to the residents. I asked if they had chicken broth or any broth and they said no, that they only had ranch dressing. One lady said to another resident's daughter, "I don't know why they have him on pureed food, he can eat just fine. When I have a hamburger I give him bites of mine." I've seen staff members leave the burners on the stove on with nothing on the stove. I sat and watched the area for 20 minutes and they never turned it off. I was leaving the area and found a staff member and told them to turn it off. The kitchen area is open and anyone can pass through it. They have chains to block off the area but they are rarely used. Rooms are rarely cleaned. I know, I have a camera in the room. I see how often they clean. They take clean blankets and place them on the dirty floor and then put them on the beds. Staff members told me that they were mixing two of his medications to make a paste and applying them to his body because he had something on his skin that they didn't know what it was. Neither employees are nurses nor is there a doctor's order for this. Some staff members don't take their gloves off after changing the resident. They leave them on and then touch everything in the room with dirty gloves. Communication is awful. Even when you tell the facility that someone will be out to visit the resident, they take the resident off campus. Then they act stupid to try and cover up their mistake. I send 3 messages saying a visitor would be there to see my father and they ignored my messages and took him off campus. There is a high rate of staff turnover within this company as well. The staff-to-resident ratio is awful. There have been days that only 2 employees were present and there were 15 residents, most in wheelchairs. Staff members are not trained on how to communicate with those with TBIs. I continuously hear one lady tell my father, "Oh you're OK." She asked him to move one day and when he didn't immediately respond to her, she huffed and said, "Whatever" and left the room. Staff members do not use gait belts properly. They tug and pull on the residents. One girl had the belt directly on my father's skin pulling on it. The list goes on and on.
