Review Summary
The following is an AI generated summary of the reviews of the community from across the web.
Reviews of Amberwoods of Farmington show a mix of experiences. Some residents and their families have praised the facility for its compassionate care, professional staff, and cleanliness. Positive comments highlight the attentive nurses, CNA's, and rehabilitation teams, as well as the welcoming atmosphere created by the staff. The recreation department, particularly for the dementia unit, received commendation for their caring approach and efforts to keep families connected.
However, there are also several negative reviews pointing out concerns about cleanliness, management, and staff behavior. Complaints include reports of a dirty kitchen, lack of air conditioning, unresponsive staff, and poor treatment of residents. Some reviews mention the facility being understaffed, with employees needing to work multiple jobs. Concerns about the physical state of the building, including the need for updates and maintenance, were also noted. Additionally, there were alarming reports of a staff member being intoxicated on the job and issues with pest control.
While some families have had positive experiences, recommending Amberwoods for its caring staff and effective rehabilitation services, others urge caution due to their experiences with neglect, poor management, and unsanitary conditions. The facility appears to have a polarizing effect on reviewers, with some expressing gratitude for the care provided to their loved ones, and others describing their experience as horrifying and advising others to stay away.
Reviews
1 star is generous. Any positive review you read is fake to keep their ratings up. The truth is it's nothing more then a warehouse. They're not set up for hospice, dementia and other major issues but will take any case. What happened at this facility was criminal and they know it. Remember me? Ask them why there's living people in the basement, dimly lit like from a horror movie. The stench was more then just urine. No IV bags, urine bags... nothing. So if we were already very short every single day upstairs who bothers to check on the poor souls in the basement? If you've read this far and still not sure: they know you're coming, they clean, smile, happy and caring. But who was there to babysit staff? No one. Yelling, SCREAMING, crying, chairs flying... what a second rate rodeo from the worst place in CT . The food, well if I were YOU I'd keep a close eye on the kitchen help, shady and due.
