If I could give this place less than a 1 star review I would! I wouldn't send a half dead animal there for care, let alone another family member! My step father has been in the facility for a very short time, less than a month in fact. He is there for what is supposed to be rehabilitation to get his legs to hopefully function again after being diagnosed with a rare auto immune disorder and being bed ridden in the hospital for nearly 3 months. In the short time he has been there, he has already gotten 2 bed sores which only a couple of the staff members pay attention to. He has had to ring the bell and wait anywhere from 30 mins to an hour before someone even comes in and acknowledges that help was even called for. The only time he calls someone in is when he needs to use the bathroom or get a drink, little stuff because he cannot get up physically and move. There was one night he needed to use the bed pan, he rang the bell and waited and waited....no one came and he pooped in the bed because he couldn't hold it any longer....they left him sitting in that poo for over 45 minutes! Completely disgusting and unacceptable! Many times our family has come in to see that we have had to toilet him because of their lack of response. We have noticed that they do not clean him up properly, they leave poo on his butt. There was one night my father's leg fell out of the bed. Again he cant pick his own legs up, so he rang for help. They never answered the bell. He laid there for so long that it started to physically hurt him. He started screaming for help. Not one staff member paid any attention what so ever, to the bell or the screams. His roommate, who could barely move on his own himself the poor man, got out of bed and over to my dads bedside. He picked my fathers leg back up on the bed for him and helped him get situated, then got himself back into bed and situated before anyone decided to go in and see what was going on! They do not change his bedding regularly. They leave him in dirty sheets with stains, and that smell of sweat and nastiness. The staff members have the worst attitudes of anyone I've encountered in the field. Most of them won't even carry a smile! They leave him sitting in his room in bed pretty much 24/7. They don't bring him out of the room to socialize with other residents. They don't send someone in to have interaction with him or even really check on him for that matter. They have a really bad habit of bringing him his nasty and almost inedible food and leaving it at the end of the bed where he can't reach it. They will just come in and take his food trays away without even asking him if he's finished or not. They also have construction going on in patient wings, and while that's happening they have things scattered all over the floor and in the hallways that would clearly impose massive hazards in the event of an emergency. They wouldn't be able to get those residents out safely especially the ones that are immobile without either hurting themselves or the resident. There was also the day my mother went in to visit him and they had a fully competent and fully continent man in a diaper because their staff would rather make the residents go in a diaper so they don't have to take the time to toilet them! I could continue, but I shouldn't have to. Just that bit alone should be enough to let people know how terrible this facility is!
